April 1st is the deadline for the MMHA Scholarship application (must be postmarked). $250 stipends in support of higher education. Only requirement is that sponsorship of applicant come from a MMHA member in good standing.

Take a look at this update from McGlinchey Stafford of Albany, NY on manufactured housing!

Included in the letter is a section on HUD default state installation issues. The most common discoveries are improper
grading around the home, improper cap blocks, tie downs that exceed 60 degrees, and lack of approved alternative foundation designs.

HUD intends to release an Interpretative Bulletin to provide guidance on proper foundation design and installation in freezing climates.

190th Mass General Court 5,875 Bills filed!

According to Michael Segal of InstaTrac, there have been 5,875 bills filed in this new legislative session. MMHA is seeking to move forward Water Submetering; and Costs for Background Check payments for potential MHC residents. Currently we have docket numbers but the final bill numbers have not yet been released.
