Report from our neighboring state…After the update about the ProGuard Oil Tank Spill Program, a CT/and Mass. owner/operator Marcia Stemm, President of Mobilehome Parks, Inc., heard at the Association Annual Meeting, she decided to implement the program in some of her communities. Rather than “reinventing the wheel”, she reached out to other association members who had already been through the process for advice.
Marcia sent an e-mail requesting information about rolling out the program in a community. She was pleasantly surprised that within the length of time it takes to hit the reply key, she had two offers of assistance. Within 24 hours, she received a phone call with a third offer. Fellow members volunteered to share the process they used, sample letters and the reactions they received from tenants. “I was amazed at how quickly people responded, and how much time the materials and information they gave me is going to save me in implementing the program”, Marcia commented. “Having access to others’ knowledge and experience about issues we face in the mobile home business is a tremendous benefit of association membership. No matter how long you have been in the business, you can always learn from others’ experiences”, she said.
There are various ways members can tap into the expertise of other association members–what’s on your mind?
